One of my favorite things about owning a MultiCam is that I can do two things at once. While we were at the Fox & Hounds Pub the CNC router at home was busy churning out a masterpiece - unattended. We made great progress today. The two ladies were busy stapling wire onto the wood armatures I was tying the lath to the pencil rod frames.
When I got home the file had finished on the MultiCam. There were three layers to the Tortoise Beer sign. I used compressed air to blow off the dust and then used PB Bond 240 to glue them up. Just before gluing I used the die grinder to whip them to rough shape. I also glued a 1/2" steel rod for the neck. Chances are he will get a little handing from time to time as the signs are at touching level.
While I was in the gluing mood I glued up the G Street sign as well.
Tomorrow we'll finish up the lath at the Pub. Then we are ready for the sculpting process. When we aren't there we'll continue work on these signs.
